Transportation

Iye:
You can reach almost anywhere in Barcelona on foot but I’ll tell you a few ways you get around city. The easiest and most popular way to get around the city is by metro. There are metro stations all around the city. A single ride will cost you €1,15 however it’s cheaper to buy a 10 day or multi-ride ticket which you can share with your friends. These can be purchased at the tourist information desk or at the metro help desk. A fun way to see Barcelona is by taking the cable car which puts you right overtop of the city allowing you to get an amazing view. The cable car, located on Torre de Sant Sebastià in the Barceloneta district. As neat as the cable car is you may need to keep in mind a few things. One if you’re on a tight schedule the lines can get pretty long so plan ahead. If you don’t speak any Spanish or Catalan you may want to go with a friend who does because the guard does not speak any foreign languages and therefore may not be able to understand what type of ticket you want. The cable car takes you from Sant Sebastià to Pac Montujïc in 10 minutes and visa versa. The adorable red cabins shake a bit and the window may fly open, but other than that it’s a nice ride. A single ride will cost you €7,50 and a round trip €9. Be aware of the time because the guards will shut down on schedule even if you were waiting in line. Another way to get around is the escalators located at almost every park. Whoever came up with the idea was really thinking because it’s quite a steep climb and you want to save your energy for walking around the parks, but there’s also stairs if you feel so inclined. In addition to methods of transportation I already mentioned there's also a well organized bus system, taxis you can hail city wide and fericulars (trams) these will all get you pretty much anywhere you need to go.
